Studio Policy
Music Lesson Policies of Michael Fowler
Dear Students and Parents of Students:
We want to renew our commitment to you to provide excellent music instruction for your student. We also want to inform you of our policies. Please review our policies before registering on our web site.
1. We charge a flat monthly fee of $120.00 per month, per student regardless of how many lessons you take. For example you can’t deduct per lesson if you miss a lesson. This reserves a weekly time for your lesson. This includes four, 30 min lessons a month. If there is a fifth week there will not be a lesson. This will be true for all months, if there is holiday I will do my best to work around it by giving lessons at alternate times. I do plan on teaching during all holidays and school breaks except for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day unless you hear from me. If I miss a lesson I will try to make up that lesson, if I am unable to make-up the lesson I will not charge for that lesson and we will issue a credit. If you miss a lesson I still charge . Unfortunately, I am unable to give refunds or credits for lessons you miss. Please be there for your lesson. We depend on students income from lessons for our livelihood and can't lose income because a student decides not to come to a lesson. That lesson time has been reserved for your student.
2. A $25.00 trip charge will be charged per month, per family to come to your home.
3. There is no trip charge if you have your lesson at my studio.
4. If you are going to miss a lesson please call me 24 hours in advance! Otherwise, I may not get the message on time. My time is valuable as is yours. I still charge for any lessons you miss or cancel.
5. Payment needs to be made at the first lesson of the month.
If I don’t get your payment at the first lesson, please mail it in. There is a $10.00 Late fee after the 15th of every month.
6. Some students have requested a 45 min. lesson. These lessons will be charged at the rate of 1 +1/2 lessons or $180.00 a month.
7. I will be happy to offer make-ups if I miss a lesson or for sickness or family emergencies if I can find a time. Make-ups are not guaranteed and depend on if I can find a schedule opening. If I can not make-up a lesson you missed you will be charged.
8. Terminating lessons Policy -Please give us at least a two week notice if you are discontinuing lessons. Payment needs to be made through the end of the month.
9. Instruments, Music books and materials need to be supplied by the parent.
10. Student progress will depend on how faithful the student is to practicing every day.
11. At this time we offer a $10.00 discount for your second student per month and $10 discount for a third student
12. Usually there is a recital in the spring. There is an additional fee of $20-30 dollars per family to rent the facility.
13. No partial payments will be accepted for missed lessons
14. If you need to make a schedule change contact Michael and he will do his best to accommodate you. Flexibility is appreciated.

Many banks offer this as a free bill paying service with an online account. It eliminates the headache of remembering to send in payment and remembering how much to send in.
